Lori and I are off on our trip celebrating a new season of life for us! While we are away The Rock will continue to worship on Sundays with some special guests. Tim Morey from Life Covenant Church will speak this coming Sunday, Sept. 16. Paul Duncan will lead our service on Sept. 23. And on Sept. 30 we will have a joint service with Paradigm LA. Pastor Israel from Paradigm LA will be speaking and Paul and the Paradigm worship team will lead music together. Lori and I will be home to worship with Paradigm LA on the 30th.

Children's Ministry
This week Rock Kids will be digging into the story of God sending Nehemiah to rebuild the wall around Jerusalem, found in Nehemiah 3-4 & 6. The kids will learn the Bible point "God is stronger than those who are against us." A long after the Israelites had been in exile, and Jerusalem (temple & city) had been destroyed, God sent Nehemiah out of exile and back to Jerusalem to rebuild the walls. Despite various people trying to stop him Nehemiah, with God's help, successfully rebuilt the wall around Jerusalem. Kids face opposition & conflict today, (like in the from of bullies). Kids need to see that God is on their side and he is stronger than those who are against them. Just as God empowered Nehemiah to accomplish his task, God can empower them too.
