It is so easy as Christians to reflect the world rather than Jesus. We are surrounded by a barrage of images, ideas, attitudes, expectations, and worldly ethics. Often times we simply blend into the world because of proximity rather than our belief system. It takes care and diligence to maintain a close walk with God. This is why God calls us to imitate Him.

Imitation is tricky. When we imitate in order to make ourselves look good, cool, or smart it can backfire because it is not authentic to who we are. This Sunday I will teach out of Ephesians 5 how we can imitate God in an authentic way. This is God’s call on our lives and ultimately how we can grow in Jesus rather than blend into the world.

"And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." - Ephesians 5:2

Children's Ministry

This week Rock Kids will be digging into the story of God being David's Shepherd, found in Psalm 23. The kids will learn the Bible point "God watches over us." By walking kids through various situations they can relate to (peace, guidance, fearful times, & feeling blessed) they will see how God can be their shepherd too. The lesson will also help kids relate to the fact that God is watching over them no matter how their feeling.
