Whether or not Christians should fast is a heated debate. Some say fasting is essential and necessary for Christians to grow closer to Jesus. Others say fasting is totally unnecessary and is a bygone tradition. Jesus, in the Sermon on the Mount, does not address the outcome of this debate. Jesus is concerned with Christians heart attitudes when they fast. This Sunday I will preach on fasting considering the biblical and historical aspects of fasting, what Jesus says about our heart attitudes, and where we should land in the fasting debate.

Come to worship God. Come to sit under God’s Word. Come to be a part of community. Come to take communion. Come to eat communion dinner together after service (Let’s eat outside at Mendocino Farms).

I hope to see you Sunday!
