We often hear the phrase "grow up!" associated with some sort of childish behavior. A junior high boy makes farting noises in class - "Grow Up!!!" A grown man is living in his parent's basement playing video games all day - "Grow Up!!!"

In the Bible the admonition to "grow up!" is much more serious. It is a call for every believer to become more Christ-like in order to benefit others and fulfill our God-given task of being the church. It is a call for ALL of us to focus on God's design and purpose for us.

This Sunday I will preach out of Ephesians 4:7-16. It is an important passage on how Jesus gives gifts to people to help us all "grow up!" Come and be fed by the sweet, satisfying Word of God!

"...we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ." - Ephesians 4:15b

Children's Ministry

This week Rock Kids will be digging into the story of God showing Josiah where Scripture is, found in 2 Kings 22. The kids will learn the Bible point "God's Word can change us." It can be easy for anyone, let alone children to see the Bible as a collection of stories or a list of facts to be memorized. But God's Word is so much more than that. The Bible is living & active. God uses His Word to change us. He uses it to correct our poor behavior, show us a better way to live, give us wisdom, help us deepen our love & faith. Scripture changed Josiah, and it can change us too.
