To much of the world the concept of "church" is a mystery. There are misconceptions - such as the church is political or powerful or hypocritical. There are mistakes - such as the church is meant to prosper people financially and physically. There are misnomers - such as the church is designed to make people good or improve people's lives.

Paul, in Ephesians, gives us radical and surprising information about the New Testament church. The church is designed to proclaim the gospel (not surprising), to unite all races and ethnicities (radical and surprising) and to show the unseen world (angels and demons) the wisdom of God!

This Sunday at The Rock we will look at the church from the perspective of Paul and the earliest Christians. I believe it is informative of who we are to be as a church and how seriously we are to take our calling from Jesus.

"Of this gospel I was made a minister according to the gift of God's grace, which was given me by the working of his power. To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, and to bring to light for everyone what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God who created all things, so that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places." - Acts 13:3

Children's Ministry

This week Rock Kids will be digging into the story of God giving Solomon Wisdom, found in 1 Kings 3 & Proverbs 1:1-7& Proverbs 2. The kids will learn the Bible point "God knows we need his help." Kids need help. Like Solomon, they need wisdom & God's guidance about what steps to take in life. They need God's love and peace. We want to help kids see that God knows that we need his help and will help us in just the way we need it.
