The Antioch church in the book of Acts sent Paul and Barnabas off on the 1st recorded missionary trip! In Acts 13:2 states; "While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, 'Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.'" It was a beautifully tender scene in which the church sent their good friends and ministers to spread the gospel of Jesus to the world.

On July 22nd The Rock will lay hands on Bryan and Jennifer Lucas and their kids to send them off to Spain to reach people for Jesus. It is an important time for our church. To send and commission people for ministry is a privilege. There is sadness and loss, just as there was for the early church in Antioch. But there is also hopeful anticipation of what God is going to do in their lives!

Please mark your calendars and plan on being in church July 22nd. We will commission the Lucas' and then have a pizza dinner following to celebrate them.

"Then after fasting and praying they laid their hands on them and sent them off." - Acts 13:3

Children's Ministry

This week Rock Kids will be digging into the story of when God helped Abigail make peace, found in 1 Samuel 25:2-38. The kids will learn the Bible point "God helps us get along." Conflict arises with kids all the time. They are at an age where they are learning to get along with others and share. It's a very important lesson, and as such, they need help. The key to getting along is to see the point of view of others and consider how God can help them get along with others.
