The Bible is full of encouragement for us to give thanks. God knows that the practice of thanksgiving is good for our souls. We need to give thanks to remind us of the goodness of God to us. We need to give thanks to encourage our souls. We need to give thanks to truthfully represent who God is to us. Thanksgiving is right, truthful, and necessary!

This Sunday at The Rock each of us has opportunity to publicly give thanks. It can be thanksgiving for God Himself, the acts of God in His creation, the acts of God in our personal lives, our relationships, our families, our work, our material goods, and anything else we can think of! Giving thanks together pleases God, encourages us as individuals, and encourages others who hear how God is at work. Come to give thanks and encourage on another.

Children's Ministry

This week Rock Kids will be digging into the story of God giving Jonah a second chance, found in Jonah 1-4. The kids will learn the Bible point "God shows mercy even when we don't." Kids can probably relate to Jonah's attitude in this story. They've all had time when they held a grudge even after God (and others) extended forgiveness. They may have been angry hen a brother or sister wasn't punished enough for doing something wrong. We want kids to see that God loves to show mercy, and wants us to show mercy too. But even when we don't, God still shows mercy.
