Have you ever been driving when another driver pulls a dangerous or inconsiderate move? Have you ever cried out; “You moron!” (or something similar)? I’m sure all of us have been guilty of some form of this situation. This is one of the types of anger that the Bible addresses. Jesus gives us 3 examples of insults in Matthew 5:22. This Sunday we will consider this type of anger and how it affects our lives. Frankly, this anger is super common in our culture. And this anger is far more destructive than we might give it credit according to Jesus.

Come with hearts prepared to worship. We have entered the season of Lent. We are called to examine our hearts as we approach the cross. As we approach the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. In order to fully celebrate the resurrection, we must come to grips with our sin that put Jesus on the cross. We are eternally blessed that Jesus is risen from the dead. May our hearts fully appreciate what Jesus forgiving our sin means!

“But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, ‘you fool!’ will be liable to the hell of fire.” Matthew 5:22
