The Sermon on the Mount is not only profoundly instructive, it is helpfully practical. Jesus instructs the hearers (including us!) in Chp. 6 to “beware of practicing your righteousness before other people to be seen by them.” Then He gives 3 practical examples of what that looks like in specific situations - giving to the needy, praying, and fasting. This Sunday we will take a closer look at giving to the needy. And I won’t be the only one preaching! We will have a special guest, Kendra, from Olive Crest to help with the application part of the sermon!

Come on Sunday as we honor mothers on Mother’s Day, worship together, and receive special encouragement in giving to the needy.

“Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.” Matthew 6:2
