Preparation is the key to success! This sounds like a motivational speech given by a teacher, boss, coach, or even before a big night out. We all want to be prepared for important moments in life. For the big test. For the meeting with a key client. For the championship game. In fact, it is some of our nightmares to be unprepared and unable to succeed in the moment we are called on to execute. God prepares us in the Christians life for success in many ways.

One way is giving us events to remember on the yearly calendar that are crucial to our faith. Easter yearly reminds us of the resurrection of Jesus, arguably the most important moment in all of history. When we remember the resurrection on Easter we are strengthened in our faith knowing that Jesus has achieved victory over death and Satan, we will be resurrected to eternal life because of Jesus’ work, and absolutely nothing can defeat the power of God.

So it would make sense to prepare ourselves for Easter Sunday! At The Rock this Sunday we will celebrate a Passover Seder in our worship service. We will start with a Palm Sunday style opening and then walk through a ceremony Jesus and his disciples would have partaken in during the Last Supper. My prayer is that it would be meaningful to us as a congregation and prepare our hearts to celebrate Easter on April 21 when we can call out with a tremendous cry of “He is Risen!”
