Weakness is not thought of as a positive personal trait in our society. Most of the time, people are expected to be strong. “She is a strong woman.” “Stay strong.” “They can get through this trial, they are strong.” The major problem with this is that often when we need strength the most, we feel weak and feeble. The Bible says that this may not be such a bad thing.

In fact, the Bible teaches that when we are weak and trust God to be our strength, then we are stronger than ever! Ephesians 6:10 encourages us; “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.” The idea here is that when we let God be our strength we can withstand any trial, trouble, doubt, and/or suffering in our life. God IS our strength.

This Sunday we will explore how God is our strength in the spiritual battle against “the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” It is how we have strength in troubled times. We all need this encouragement because we are all in this spiritual battle. I can’t wait to worship and fellowship this Sunday!

"But he said to me, ‘My Grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong." - 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Children's Ministry

This week Rock Kids will be digging into the story of God sending Philip to an Ethiopian, found in Acts 8:26-40. The kids will learn the Bible point "The Holy Spirit gives us direction." Kids are used to following directions from teachers & parents. But sometimes they have to make decisions on their own. We want to help them see that when listen to the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit can give them direction.
