I have spent this past week in Denver at our denomination’s (Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC)) annual Mid-Winter meeting. Lori and I were greatly encouraged in a few different areas:

1) I was interviewed by the national ordaining board for my final ordination in the ECC. It was an affirming time bringing to an end a long journey toward ordination. I was accepted - I will be officially ordained at the ECC Annual Meeting in June in Omaha, NE!

2) I attended my final class necessary for ordination. The class was on the Mission & Ministry of the ECC. It was inspiring to see the many ways the ECC serves in our world and supports all of our churches. I have formed many friendships in these classes and feel warmly supported by the ECC.

3) Lori and I both were thrilled with the theme of the conference, "Love Mercy, Do Justice.” It was a week of encouragement in fulfilling the whole gospel in word and deed. We look forward to sharing our experience with you!

The next two weeks we will specifically explore how The Rock is on mission. Cameron Coulter will preach this Sunday on the ECC’s evangelism initiative, BLESSED. Then on our Super Saturday Service (Feb. 2) I will preach on our biblical mandate to serve in mission in the name of our Lord Jesus. I look forward to seeing everyone this Sunday!

"I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing." - Genesis 12:1-4

P.S. - We are postponing our annual member meeting. There are a few details we need to consider and will let you know when it will be rescheduled.
