***This Sunday during the service we will announce some new COVID policies***

One of the most successful advertising campaigns in the early 90’s was Gatorade’s “Be Like Mike” commercials. One of the obvious reasons it was successful is that it seems everyone wanted to be like Mike! Michael Jordan was the biggest superstar in the world. He had charisma. He was good looking. His personality was likable. And He was the greatest basketball player anyone had seen. People truly wanted to be like Mike! There is something built into humans that they want to be like their heroes. We all look to examples of who we want to be like in our hobbies, work, and even our faith.

I believe we should lean into being like our heroes of the faith. Paul even suggested people imitate him. There are many people in the Bible we can imitate. In our study in the book of Acts we have already seen many examples to imitate. Each one of these people in the Bible is flawed, but serve Jesus well. We know they are not perfect, but we look to character qualities and how they served God to serve as our example. So we can “Be like Peter” or “Be like Barnabas!” They inspire us. They instruct us. And they give us examples in which to live!

This week we look at a new person in our study of Acts. We meet Timothy. Who do you tend to want to be like in the Bible? Maybe Timothy will inspire you this Sunday!
