Church can become routine. Like any activity that we do week in and week out, church can occupy the same category as weekly staff meetings, Taco Tuesday, Survivor night, spelling test day, or TGIF. One more activity to do and accomplish. But church is much more. Church is where we meet the God of the Universe together!

May God renew our passion to meet Him in awe and wonder. May God give us grace to open our eyes and see His glory. May God lift our heads to Him and out of our self-introspective tendencies. May God mercifully cause us to long for Him. May God shower us with joy and anticipation of being with our brothers and sisters in Christ. May God surprise us with a desire for Him that causes us to count the days, hours, and minutes until we get to worship Him together.

This Sunday at The Rock we are dedicating our service to worship, prayer, readings, and communion. This is a purposeful service that is unique in a way that wakes us up to God’s glory and goodness. It would be a great Sunday to invite someone to meet the living God. Let’s all commit to being there to support and encourage one another in this privilege of worshiping our King!

"And they devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe come upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles." - Acts 2:42-43

Children's Ministry

This week Rock Kids will be digging into the story of Abram giving Lot the best land, found in Genesis 13. The kids will learn the Bible point "God is giving, so we're giving." Kids will readily identify with this story, but on a smaller scale. They've likely had instances of breaking a cookie in half, or cutting a piece of cake to share and wanting the bigger piece. We want to help kids see how Abram gave out of gratitude for all God had given him and trusted that God would continue to provide. We want to inspire kids to do the same... even if it means choosing the smaller half of a yummy dessert.
