I'm always amazed when people say the Bible is not practical and/or applicable for modern living. The more I study, the more I'm blown away with God's wisdom in revealing to us our human condition and the state of our souls. The modern world is complex, unpredictable, and constantly changing. Yet, God in the Bible addresses everything that needs to be addressed for us to live life faithfully.

This week in Ephesians God instructs us that though there was once separation and alienation between races, "in Jesus" all races have been reconciled and given peace with one another. This is encouraging news in a world broken and stuck in ongoing racism and hate. When Jesus captures our soul with His peace and righteousness we change, grow, and become change makers.

That sounds super practical and applicable to me in a our world of racial separation and alienation. Come this Sunday to explore what God has for us in Ephesians to address the pain, hurt, and destruction found in racism. We have hope in Jesus to change!

"For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility." - Ephesians 2:14

Children's Ministry

This week Rock Kids will be digging into the story of God showing Samuel who is king, found in 1 Samuel 16:1-13. The kids will learn the Bible point "God helps us see people through his eyes." It's natural for kids to judge people based on outward appearances. But we want to help kids see people through God's eyes. It's not what's on the outside that counts, but what's on the inside. God helps us see past outward appearances, just as he helped Samuel see David beyond outward appearances. God helps us see people through his eyes.
