Ministries: Youth of the City

Matthew 5:14
You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.

YOTC is a ministry created to reach the youth of the city – Junior and Senior High Schoolers – with the love of Christ. Our Mission is to reach the youth of the city with the love of Christ. We want young people to encounter God in a way that will change them forever.

We strive to create an atmosphere where individuals can openly explore, develop and strengthen their faith in Jesus while also expressing their gifts and talents and building lasting peer relationships. Today’s youth are facing some tough stuff in their lives; drugs, parents divorcing, peer pressure, sex, gender questions, etc. We want to provide an environment to help young people face these hard things and come out in the end successful.

Youth of the City meets weekly on Fridays from 6:00 - 8:00 pm and is open to 6th - 12th graders. This is our weekly service were we worship and spend time learning and being encouraged in our faith. We view each student as “A pastor to their math class”, meaning that each student has a community of people around them that they can minister to. Wednesday evenings are a time to get equipped to then go out and be that pastor to those around them. We typically open with some fun games, have a great time of worship then break into age specific small groups.
